Greetings fellow readers!
This week had its highs and lows in terms of progress, so let's talk about it!
Name: Reforged
This is the book I am writing that I actually want published. Last week I talked about it, claiming that, with a good week of writing, I could get to the halfway point of the second part (of three parts), thus getting being halfway done with the book. On that account, I succeeded... sorta!
For Reforged, I added a sequence to my outline a couple weeks ago. Long story short, I needed characters to have particular interactions so the third act can feel earned and rewarding. In my original outline, none of those all-so-important interactions were there. Hence, the addition. Little did I know, however, that the two-and-a-half scenes I added to build these relationships and expand the lore would turn into my entire week's worth of writing.
Also, because of said sequence where it is and how climactic it was, I felt Part II was going to run way too long in comparison to Parts I and III, so I split it. Now, Reforged will be split into four parts instead of three, with the current sequence I wrote this week being the end of Part II and the beginning of Part III.
So, in terms of parts, I am halfway through Reforged. In terms of scene numbers and word count, however, I am not. I may be closer to 40-45% of the way done with the book. That does not take me out of the running for completing it mid-April, which is still my goal.
I write Reforged every day, though not every day is as fruitful as the last. In all, over the last seven days, I have written seven chapters with a combined wordcount of 9,342 words. For frame of reference, the book currently stands at 48,062 words and I am going to begin the thirty-eighth chapter tomorrow.
I look forward to seeing how things progress this week!
Secret Project
Still secretive, still the most time-consuming and difficult creative endeavor I have assignment myself. I tried last week to do something to make it go by a little quicker. Honestly? I think it made the endeavor take a little longer. Regardless, I finished what I had set out to do for the project and will continue henceforth. If it does get off the ground, I hope to have good news for you all come June or July!
In any case, that's the update for this week. Hope you all enjoy the new CLANN drops in the coming days and I will see you all for next week's update!
