Greetings, fellow readers!
Speaking of pivotal scenes, here's another one!
This scene was fun to write for a lot of reasons. One, I got to show what Mav does while he's frustrated (is anyone surprised he works out?). Two, during said workout, I got to show a bit of the martial-arts terminology used on Talam. Three, dig a tiny bit into what's weighing Mav down. Four, an excitable child. Five, showing how most people react to Peace Keepers.
Six, the whole pivotal-ness of it all.
I can't talk more about it right now, really. But just know, this scene gets a callback in this story and is also a major impetus for Mav (drawing on his general morality and *tragic backstory TM*).
In any case, I really like this scene. This can be said about a lot of scenes, but I feel this one more than most is absolutely required for the climax to hit the way that it does (or, I guess, eventually will).
